Since itīs been kinda quiet here lately:
On several lists Iīve seen people finishing their posts with their name (of course) and the type of their bike and the year of the make. So at the thumper list Iīd close a post like this:
Armand
`97 Suzuki LS650 Savage
`90 Honda XBR 500
Some of the folks include specific names they`ve given to their bikes, such as "La Toastada" (for a BMW Toast Rack) or "Churchy La Femme" for another Beamer (btw., my favourite charakter in Walt Kellyīs Pogofenokee is Albert the Aligator).
I recall having given names to my cars when I was younger. My first car - a blue Renault 4 - was called "Charon Bleu", the blue charon, a name which, of course, I had simply stolen from a Duerenmatt novel.
My other cars had more or less the same name with changing colors until I didnīt bother anymore looking for names for my cars. The last car I had until a change one year ago had a name again, being given by my 11 years old son; he called it Lebovsky (after the guy in the movie), which fitted pretty good for the old heap of tin.
I never bothered to give a name to my bikes however, until I decided to call my Honda "Kibitzer" (after the name of a fighter plane in a novel)just few weeks ago.
Just for being curious:
Does anybody out there call his bike by a certain name?
Which one? Why?
